Veterinarians
Debbie Padilla-Kruk, DVM
Dr. Padilla-Kruk completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Science, developing a strong foundation in nutrition before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin — Madison in 2000. She has worked in small animal medicine since 2003 and is especially passionate about preventive health care, which allows her to build meaningful, long-term relationships with pets and their families.
A member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association since 1998, Dr. Padilla-Kruk places special emphasis on feline medicine and behavior in her practice. She also has a strong interest in dentistry and nutrition, and has collaborated with working dog groups, including K9 police units, as well as hunting and field trial dogs. Most recently, she was accepted into the UW — School of Veterinary Medicine Shelter Program as a 2025-2026 fellow, where she will focus on improving shelter medicine in the areas of animal health, behavior, enrichment, and community education.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Padilla-Kruk enjoys life with her husband, two children, and a lively multi-cat household. In her free time, she can often be found hiking local parks, reading historical fiction with her book club, or volunteering at Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter, where she serves as the veterinarian of record and a member of the Board of Directors & Medical Director.
Nicole Ebbe, DVM
Dr. Nicole Ebbe joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in 2014. Dr. Ebbe completed her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin — Platteville, where she majored in Biology with a Zoology emphasis. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois — Champaign Urbana in 2012, and is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Ebbe’s professional interests include surgery, dentistry, behavior, nutrition, and exotic animal medicine.
Dr. Ebbe grew up in Waukesha, WI. “When I was a child, I had a Labrador retriever named Thor,” she says. “We did everything together, and he was my driving force for wanting to be a veterinarian.” Dr. Ebbe says her favorite thing about being a veterinarian is that no two days are ever the same. “I enjoy knowing I can make a difference in a pet’s life. There is nothing like the ‘thank you’ you get from a pet that feels healthy again because of what I’ve done for them.”
Dr. Ebbe is married to Kyle. They have two energetic, outgoing sons, Archer and Calvin. The Ebbe family has two cats (Vally and Lucky) and a dog (Arya). She spends her free time with her family hiking, biking, running, hunting, fishing, and crafting.
Marcus Wisniewski, DVM
Dr. Marcus Wisniewski graduated from the University of Illinois with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and completed an internship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital. Following his internship, Marcus entered a mixed animal practice, where he primarily worked with horses and small animals. His professional interests include internal medicine, neonatology, chiropractic/rehabilitation, and surgery.
Dr. Marcus completed his certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT) through the Healing Oasis Veterinary Wellness Center in 2019 and became a fellow of the College of Animal Spinal Manipulation (CoAC). Dr. Marcus Wisniewski also does chiropractic on small animals and Horses.
In addition to serving small animal patients at Dodgeville Veterinary Service, Dr. Wisniewski is also performing VSMT on horses!
In his free time, Marcus enjoys time with his family, friends, and his pomeranian Eris. Other interests include exercise, video/board games, and anything that involves being outdoors. He is also actively involved in various community theater organizations, including those in the Verona and Madison area.
Dr. Carol Baumann, DVM
Growing up in central Illinois and showing dairy cattle sparked Dr. Baumann’s passion for veterinary medicine. With an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota (Class of 2022), she’s ready to bring her expertise in rehabilitation, pain management, client education, and surgery to our team.
After two years in a mixed animal practice, Dr. Baumann is excited to focus on small animals and offer a variety of services to our community. When she’s not at the clinic, she loves spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, kayaking, and caring for her two dogs, Wrangler and Bucky, and her horse.
Dr. Jennifer Milford, DVM
Dr. Jennifer Milford completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before moving to Tennessee to pursue her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University, graduating in May 2020. Her professional interests include surgery, nutrition, and exotic animal medicine, with a strong passion for preventive care. She believes that educating pet owners about their animals’ health and well-being helps strengthen the human–animal bond.
Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Milford discovered her passion for veterinary medicine at an early age. Through hard work and dedication, she achieved her dream of becoming a veterinarian and is proud to be part of the Dodgeville Veterinary Service team, where she is committed to providing high-quality care to her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Milford enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as hiking, horseback riding, and gardening.
Practice Manager
Heather, Practice Manager
Heather joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in the fall of 2020. She graduated from National American University in Rapid City, SD, with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Originally from a small dairy farm in Highland, WI, she has always loved working in environments where no two days are the same — and the clinic certainly delivers. Every day brings new challenges and new possibilities.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys barrel racing with her two horses.
Certified Veterinary Technicians
Lori, CVT-Team Lead
Lori joined the Dodgeville Veterinary Service staff in June 1995 after graduating from Madison Area Technical College. Her responsibilities include assisting with examinations, laboratory work, taking X-rays, assisting during surgical procedures, and more. Her professional interests include surgery and canine rehabilitation, and she worked closely with Dr. Holter to start Dodgeville Veterinary Service’s canine rehabilitation program.
“My co-workers are great,” says Lori. “They are all hard-working and have really big hearts. I know pets are well cared for by all our staff.”
At home, Lori has three cats, Willow, Stripes, and Turtle. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, scrapbooking, gardening, and spending time with her children, family, and friends.
Lexi, CVT
Lexi joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in 2019. She graduated that same year from the Large Animal Veterinary Technician program at Northeast Iowa Community College. She has since passed the National Certification Exam and is now preparing for the State Exam to become a fully certified veterinary technician.

Outside of work, she enjoys showing and raising beef cattle, riding horses, spending time with her family and pets, and being in the outdoors.
Lexi has a black lab (Bear), three horses (Brandy, Pebbles, and Chief), and cattle (purebred Angus and Shorthorns).
Brittany, CVT
Brittany started working with Dodgeville Veterinary Service in 2020. Brittany is grateful for this opportunity to work here while attending Madison Area Technical College to become a Veterinary Technician. She enjoys continually learning new things each day and is always working to grow and improve her skills.
Outside of work, Brittany spends her free time going on hikes, kayaking, and being with her friends and family. Brittany has two dogs, a golden retriever (Rylie) and a teddy bear (Nala), a cat (Taco), and a guinea pig (Peaches).
Cory, CVT
Cory worked at Dodgeville Veterinary Service from 2016 to 2018 before taking time off to care for her two children. She returned in 2019 and has been helping the team on a part-time basis since then.
Brea, VT
Breanna joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in 2015, before graduating from college, and worked with the team for six years. She then spent three years working as a Calf Technician on a dairy farm before returning to DVS in May 2024. She enjoys caring for patients and helping them feel better, and values working alongside the compassionate and hardworking staff at DVS.
Outside of work, Breanna enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She is also the proud owner of a Mini Australian Shepherd named Boone.
Sam, CVT
Sam joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in 2021 after graduating from the Veterinary Technician program at Madison College and passing her board exams in 2020. She has always had a passion for caring for animals and grew up surrounded by a variety of species on a small hobby horse farm in southwest Wisconsin. Sam currently shares her home with her husband, infant son, and four rescue cats. She enjoys that each day at DVS brings new experiences and opportunities to learn.
Bill, CVT
Bill joined the team in February of 2025. He has been in the area for a couple of years. He enjoys the opportunities DVS has to offer and loves learning new things and meeting new people. He has a dog, a few chickens, rabbits, and ducks. He enjoys fixing things and spending time with his wife and two kids. His favorite zoo animal is either an elephant or a hippo.
Client Service Representatives & Veterinary Assistants
Sue, CSR
Sue joined the team at Dodgeville Veterinary Service in September 2003. She retired in May of 2023, but has stayed part-time working as needed. Sue mostly enjoys interacting with clients and their pets when they come to our veterinary hospital. “My coworkers share the same compassion for the clients and their pets,” says Sue. “We also have excellent veterinarians, which makes our clients extremely happy to come to our clinic.”
At home, Sue has a Miniature Schnauzer named Molly. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and grandchildren, as well as camping, photography, and going to garage sales.
Shelby, CSR
Shelby joined the team in October of 2025. She is originally from West Virginia and moved here right after she graduated high school. She moved here to attend SW Tech in Fennimore, WI. Some of her responsibilities include making appointments and answering phone calls, along with other duties. She also greets the clients and pets who come in. So far, she enjoys seeing all the adorable pets that come through our door every day and the owners who love and care for them. She grew up with two dogs and two cats and has always had animals around her.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also loves singing, listening to music, and watching movies. She loves spending time with my spunky cats, Marley, Milo, and Ashe. She can’t wait to see where this job takes her.
Abby F, Veterinary Assistant
Abby joined DVS in October 2019. Some of her responsibilities include checking clients in, assisting with patient care, answering phone calls, and managing social media.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys hunting, camping, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She has two dogs, a Shepherd mix named Harper and an English Springer Spaniel named Kye. They love going swimming and running around for hours out at her uncle’s farm.
Kaity, Veterinary Assistant
Kaity joined the Dodgeville Veterinary Service team in 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant. She has dreamed of working in veterinary medicine since childhood, and her passion for caring for and rescuing animals continues to this day. Born and raised in the River Valley area, Kaity still resides there with her five dogs, two cats, a ferret, and a ball python — most of whom are rescues. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and friends and participating in outdoor activities.

Abby S, Veterinary Assistant
Abby joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in February 2021, bringing experience from a large animal clinic in Iowa. She graduated in 2018 from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville with a major in Animal Science and a minor in Biology. With a lifelong passion for animals, Abby enjoys helping clients and their pets every day. She especially loves welcoming new puppies and kittens to their homes and giving them extra care and attention during their first wellness appointments.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending time with family, going on adventures with her husband, Josh, and being outdoors with their two dogs, Bailey and Bo.
Sara, Veterinary Assistant
Sara joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in June 2023, shortly after graduating from Darlington High School. She grew up on a dairy farm outside of Darlington, WI, and has always loved caring for animals of all sizes. Sara currently has three horses and four dogs.
Outside of work, she enjoys rodeoing with her horses and spending time with family and friends. She is currently attending the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Sara hopes to attend veterinary school and pursue her goal of becoming a veterinarian.
Allison, Veterinary Assistant
Allison joined the Dodgeville Veterinary Service team in 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant. She is from the Readstown area and grew up on a small beef farm. Allison graduated from Kickapoo High School and is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, studying Animal Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Technology. She plans to attend Madison Area Technical College next year to earn her Veterinary Technician degree.
Allison shares her home with two dogs, Bear and River, and a horse named Sadie. She loves all animals, but if she had to choose a favorite, it would be dogs — especially Labrador Retrievers.
Isabella, Veterinary Assistant
Isabella joined Dodgeville Veterinary Service in February 2025. She is originally from Illinois and is currently attending the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, where she is studying Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis. After graduation, Isabella hopes to attend veterinary school and pursue her goal of becoming a shelter veterinarian.
She shares her home with a Persian cat named Peaches and a beagle named Lucky. Outside of work, Isabella enjoys reading, baking, and going to the gym.
Sienna, Veterinary Assistant
Sienna joined the DVS team in June 2023, shortly after graduating from Pecatonica High School. She grew up around both large and small animals and always had a passion for them and for making sure they get the best care. She currently has two cats, Ozzy and Binx.
Her favorite part about working at DVS is meeting all the pets and how each day is different. She also loves how close everyone on the DVS teams is, and how we all pick each other up and make each other laugh.
Outside of work, Sienna enjoys spending time outdoors and socializing with friends and family.
Emma, Veterinary Assistant
Emma just recently joined the DVS team as a veterinary assistant in October 2025. Emma graduated from Cuba City High School in 2023. She attended UW-Platteville for one year to begin her studies in biology. She left school to continue working on the dairy farm that she started in 2021 as a Calf Tech. She’ll be heading back to school in the spring to start the vet tech program at Madison Area Technical College. She has two dogs that she absolutely loves and adores. Moose is a male tri-colored heeler, and Cora is a female red heeler. What she loves about DVS so far is that everyone is willing to help each other out. We are all a team here. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on walks, reading, watching movies, and doing anything outside with her two dogs.
Danika, Veterinary Assistant
Danika joined the DVS team in October of 2025 as a Veterinary Assistant. She moved to the River Valley area in 2024 from Baraboo, looking to create a better and slower life in the country. She’s always been a lover of animals, from rodents like rats and ferrets to horses and every furry and scaly creature in between. She has always wanted to work with animals ever since she was four, when she would do check-ups for the wide variety of animals her family had growing up. She started volunteering at animal shelters when she was 13 and eventually started assisting them with the more Veterinary aspects of things, as well as volunteering at a Ranch Care program with children and horses.
Being able to have the opportunity to work with and assist animals every day has been something she has always greatly enjoyed and finds very rewarding. She currently has two dogs, a rescue mutt from Texas, Ireland, a partially rescued German Shepherd, Kenai, and two cats, Keeva and Frankie. Outside of work, she enjoys all the outdoor activities, especially hiking on many different trails with her dogs that she can, kayaking, camping, getting lost in the woods, as well as reading, crocheting, and watching classic movies.
